PGA Betting Picks and Predictions for WGC Bridgestone Invitational

The PGA Tour makes its turn to the Firestone Country Club in Akron Ohio. The WGC – Bridgestone Invitational is next on the schedule, and will take place the first full weekend of August. The beautiful 7,400 yard course is a par 70, and the host of the nearly $10,000,00 prize pool tournament. There are 75 players in the WGC Bridgestone Invitational. Here are our betting picks:

Jordan Spieth +800

The best news is – Jordan Spieth is playing in this event. The most exciting golfer to watch will be back in action. Spieth will not have a ton of momentum to win the tournament, but he does want to play well and prepare for the PGA Championship, which would finish his career grand slam. Spieth won the Open Championship over Matt Kuchar by shooting a pair of 65’s and a pair of 69’s. Spieth also won the Travelers Championship, and finished 2nd at the Dean and DeLuca.

Dustin Johnson +900

Dustin Johnson is coming off an 8th place finish at the Canadian Open last weekend. That was good to see after missing the cut twice in a row, and then finishing 54th at the Open Championship. Johnson has played in 14 events, and made the cut 11 times, with 7 Top 10 finishes.

Hideki Matsyuama +1800

The 25 year old is still coming onto his own. He is third on the PGA Money List, with more than $6M earned. He is coming off a 14th place finish at the Open Championship. Before that, he finished 2nd at the US Open, and was 11th at the Masters. Look for him to be in play once again this weekend.

Justin Rose +2500

An underrated player on the tour is Justin Rose. 19th on the PGA Money List, Rose has been in the Top 10, 4 times this season. Rose finished 54th at the Open Championship, and was cut from the US Open, so not a ton of recent great play. But look back at the Masters, where he had a chance to win it, and you will know why betting on Rose is not a bad idea.

Thomas Pieters +5000

While this is not a major, this is the guy many are watching as the “next major champion”. Pieters hung in during the Open Championship, with an opening round 69, and a third round 68. He finished 44th, which earned him $31K. Pieters was 4th at the Masters and 5th at the World Golf Championships in Mexico.

There are our PGA Betting Picks and Predictions for the WGC Bridgestone Invitational. When push comes to shove we are going with Hideki Matsyuama at +1800. He can really play. He can hit the golf ball far, and he can knock down the putts when needed. Best of luck with all your golf betting. Enjoy the action!
